Review of the 2024-2025 Bills Season

NY Jets at Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills' 2024-2025 season, in my opinion, was by far the best coaching job of Sean McDermott's tenure. While many of the faithful were heartbroken by the outcome in Kansas City, when you examine everything that took place, particularly regarding personnel changes, I think you will agree with my assessment.

Most national pundits predicted that the Jets and Dolphins would challenge the Bills for the AFC East title. Neither of these franchises was even competitive this season, which highlights the importance of strong leadership in your football operation.

At the beginning of McDermott's tenure in Buffalo, I was very apprehensive about giving him full control over the franchise. However, after eight seasons, as Bill Parcells says, "you are what your record is." Sean McDermott has become one of the most successful head coaches in the NFL and the architect of this entire football operation, which is now a model for other franchises aiming for success.

By allowing McDermott the freedom to build his football operation, I believe the Bills' transformation from one of the worst franchises into one of the league's models is clear. This season proves that point. Despite it being a transition year, the team was just one game away from a Super Bowl berth. Sure, many are disappointed with the AFC Championship result, but I think it only reinforces the fact that Sean McDermott had his best coaching year as head coach of the Buffalo Bills.
