Buffalo Bills Head to the Playoffs
By Pat Freeman, The Mighty O’Ba
The hometown team once again heads to the playoffs for the seventh time in eight years during the McDermott/Beane er a because most of the experts considered this a transitional year. Many of the experts felt that The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins were able to challenge the Bills Supremacy in the AFC East.
Well, that was not to be the case because both franchises struggled the entire season. The Dolphins, I believe, struggled because of some serious injuries particularly on the defensive side of the ball. They also have continued the concussion saga of Tua Tagovailoa which I believe will lead to his premature retirement.
The Jets organization has made some of the worse decisions imaginable and still have a good roster, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Their mistake came about by bringing a washed-up hall of fame caliber quarterback who caused more problems than he was worth on the football field. This franchise made the same mistake years earlier with Brett Favre who gave the Jets the exact thing, nothing. The Bills absolutely dominated the AFC East this year and the one loss they suffered was during a meaningless last game verses the New England Patriots who for such a valiant act was unceremoniously fired after one year.
The one thing Coach McDermott has brought this franchise is stability and a team that competes every year. Truthfully, when you hear Super Bowl or bust talk I just don’t think people realize how hard it is to compile the record of the McDermott/ Beane group and that’s why I proudly voted for Coach McDermott as the coach of the year and Brandon Beane as the Executive of the year. Nobody picked the Bills to dominate the AFC East as they have this year, and it is time this franchise is recognized.
