Have the Bills done enough this off season?
By Pat Freeman, The Mighty O’Ba
The question asked each off season is, have the Bills done enough this off season to win the AFC? The last five years this franchise has been on the cusp of beating their nemesis rival, the Kansas City Chiefs but have come up short in the playoffs. The hometown team has beaten the Chiefs consistently in the regular season. It is the post season where this franchise has fallen short vs them. The Chiefs have played a lot of games over the last few years, and it showed in the Super Bowl where the Philadelphia Eagles beat them from beginning to end.
The Bills just have not been able to close the deal on the Chiefs, and you wonder have they answered enough of the personnel questions to finally make it to the Super Bowl in San Francisco this year? Many in the media point the finger at McDermott/Beane, and that is understandable because they make all the important decisions. Despite his incredible success with this franchise, Sean McDermott is where the blame must rest. He is the game decision maker, and the buck rests with him. Truly, I have enjoyed his tenure here in Western New York.
This franchise was not relevant at all for several seasons before his arrival, but everybody wants to be a champion in sports. That is the reason fans spend their money on merchandise, season tickets, etc. So, to answer the question, you once again, must see how this season unfolds each week. No other sport is affected by injury more than the NFL. Health is the greatest factoring where a team fares towards the end of each season, more so than what they do now. I guess we will see as the 2025-2026 season draws closer.
