The 4th annual African American Veterans Arts and Culture Parade is set for August 30, 2025, at 2pm rain or shine. The parade committee is seeking volunteers as flag and banner carriers, and re-enactors to wear period costumes, plus many more positions to help out.
Kids and young adults are encouraged to be in the parade and ride their bikes skateboards, roller skates and blades. They can also dress up in their favorite superhero costume as well.
The parade committee is also looking for sponsors to submit ads to be placed in the souvenir journal and organizations can also participate in the parade by carrying their company’s banner.
The parade will start at the corner of Jefferson and Riley Streets, and end at the Johnnie B. Wiley Sports Pavilion, located at 1100 Jefferson and Dodge streets.
