BUFFALO MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGE
U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that Alexis Perez, Jr., 21, of Buffalo, NY, was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and cocaine, which carries a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of 40 years, and $5,000,000 fine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Donna Duncan, who is handling the case, stated that according to the complaint, in June 2024, Cheektowaga Police officers identified Perez as being involved in crack cocaine trafficking in the Buffalo area. A subsequent investigation included several undercover controlled purchases of narcotics. A search warrant was executed at Perez’s Cambridge Avenue residence and on his vehicle. The searches recovered a shotgun and ammunition, quantities of fentanyl and cocaine, and a metal press.
The complaint is the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Frank Tarentino, and the Cheektowaga Police Department, under the direction of Chief Brian Coons.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
